Cumnor chess players ready for Chiltern League U125 final against Buckinghamshire

This Sunday (April 28th 2013) will finally see Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire chess teams compete for the Chris Stothert Trophy, in division 3 of the Chiltern League.

And Cumnor players are strongly represented on the Oxfordshire team!

You’ll remember that this final game was originally scheduled for March, but was postponed because of heavy snow.

The match will begin at 2pm on Sunday, at Wellington College in Crowthorne.

The great news is that Oxon U125 has already beaten Bucks (8-4), Hants (9.5-2.5) and Berks (8.5-3.5) in the run-up to the final.

A quirk in the rules means that Oxfordshire still has to play, and this weekend’s match will decide who finally wins the trophy.

Please keep your fingers crossed for Oxfordshire, and your fellow Cumnor Chess Club players!
